Peterborough United are set to be without attacking midfielder Sammie Szmodics after he picked up an injury in training, sources exclusively confirmed to FootballLeagueWorld.
The 25-year-old has nine League One goals to his name this season but is now looking likely to miss a number of games, including the next three against Portsmouth, Rochdale and Blackpool.
Szmodics has missed just one league game for Posh this season, appearing 32 times as Darren Ferguson looks to get the club back into the Championship for the first time since 2013.
The former Colchester and Bristol City man has been a big part of the line-up that currently sits in second position in the table, so he will be a huge miss for at least the next few matches.
Alongside Siriki Dembele and Jonson Clarke-Harris, Szmodics is part of the second most deadly trio in the league – only Hull’s Mallik Wilks, Josh Magennis and Keane Lewis-Potter can trump their record with 37 goals to the Posh threesomes 36 (transfermarkt).

With Szmodics sidelined for the next few weeks, Ferguson now has an interesting tactical dilemma on his hands, and with no real out-and-out replacement to choose from, Posh could be in for a difficult time of things.
