Nottingham Forest look set to retain the service of Lewis Grabban this summer, with Lyle Taylor more likely to leave City Ground in the coming transfer window, a source has exclusively revealed to Football League World.

Chris Hughton has Forest drifting towards mid-table in the Championship this season, with focus naturally starting to move towards the summer transfer window.

Grabban's future with Forest will be something weighing on the mind at the City Ground heading into the summer, given the forward is entering the final 12 months of his contract and was reportedly close to leaving the club in 2020.

Football League World understand that Grabban is looking like he will stay put at Forest heading into 2021/22, with Taylor more likely to be moved on if the club look to shift a forward on in the summer transfer window.

Taylor has scored four goals in the Championship this season and added a further strike in the FA Cup, having made the move to the East Midlands as a free agent, leaving him as Forest's top goalscorer this season.

However, as the run-in approaches, Taylor has fallen down the pecking order under Hughton and now appears third choice behind Glenn Murray and Grabban.

Grabban, despite his struggles this season in the Championship, has proved to be a consistent source of goals at Forest.

He struck 20 times last season to put Forest into play-off contention, with that electric form following a season that saw him score 16 league goals before Sabri Lamouchi was appointed.

This year, Grabban has only three league goals, with his struggles coinciding with Forest failing to mount any sort of play-off push.
