MK Dons are looking into agreeing another one year contract with stalwart Dean Lewington, Football League World has been told.
The defender has been with the club since their formation and so is very much what you could call a modern day club legend for the men from Milton Keynes.
His association with the club has seen them up and down the EFL and his availability to feature hasn’t faltered, with him racking up the appearances once again this season in Sky Bet League One, as the side looks to earn promotion into the Sky Bet Championship.
Indeed, that would be a fine way to cap another season at the club for Lewington and he may well be remaining with the team for next year, too, with Football League World being told that the club is currently looking into offering him another term.
Turning 38-years-old in May but showing no sign of slowing down or falling out of the side, Lewington looks set to continue playing into the 2022/23 season and it would surely make sense to be doing that with MK Dons, regardless of what division they are in next year.
Time will tell, then, but his association with the club appears to have more years left right now.
