Blackburn Rovers face a fight to retain the service of Ben Brereton Diaz in the coming transfer windows as contract talks continue to stall. Football League World understand that Leeds United are the latest Premier League club tracking the striker.

Leeds are said to be impressed by what Brereton Diaz has been delivering in the Championship, sources have explained to Football League World.

Diaz has scored 14 goals in the second-tier for Tony Mowbray's side this season, as well as registering one assist, helping Rovers to eighth in the table heading towards December.

However, the Chilean sensation will see his contract at Blackburn expire in the summer. The club are in talks with the 22-year-old over an extension, although right now there's no indication that he will commit.

Leeds aren't alone in holding an interest in the former Nottingham Forest forward either.

Football League World understands that Burnley, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton have all been tracking Brereton Diaz over recent weeks and months.

There's also admirers in Spain, including Sevilla, who have had an eye on the Blackburn man since the start of the year.

Alongside his impressive Championship form, Brereton Diaz has become an unlikely hero for Chile, scoring two goals in four World Cup qualifying fixtures.

Brereton Diaz was on target for Blackburn as recently as Saturday, when his 75th minute goal against Bristol City secured Mowbray's side a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate.
