EFL managerial pair Steve Cooper and Valerien Ismael both remain in the running for the Crystal Palace job, a source has revealed to Football League World.

The Eagles are on the search for a new manager now it has been confirmed that Roy Hodgson is going to step down from the club at the end of this season.

Indeed, he takes charge of his final game as Palace boss this Sunday at Liverpool and it will then be of interest to see who is going to take over at Selhurst Park.

The likes of Chris Wilder, Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche have all been linked whilst Football League World has been told that EFL-based pair, Steve Cooper and Valerien Ismael are both still in the running for the vacancy.

The two have guided their respective sides; Swansea and Barnsley, into the play-offs in the Sky Bet Championship and one of them will take their team to Wembley, with the Swans currently leading the Tykes 1-0 after their first-leg clash at Oakwell.

Palace have evidently been impressed with the jobs both have done in the second tier, too, with Ismael a former Eagles player - though not for very long.

Palace are currently narrowing down the candidates and both Cooper and Ismael are still in with a shout.
