Huddersfield Town are in talks with highly-regarded 18-year-old Brodie Spencer over a new contract, sources have exclusively informed Football League World

Spencer was handed his senior debut by Danny Schofield in the 4-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Preston North End last week and, now, less than a year on from signing his first professional deal, he is set to be rewarded with a new contract.

Football League World understands that Huddersfield are in talks over a new deal for the teenager.

Sources have revealed that Spencer, who originally joined the club as a midfielder but has been converted into a right-back, is highly-regarded at the Championship club.

He won the Antoni’s Memorial Academy Player of the Year award in 2021/22 and was called up to train with the first team squad on multiple occasions by former head coach Carlos Corberan.

The defender's exploits last season also saw him earn a first international cap for Northern Ireland in June 2022 as he came off the bench to make a 25-minute cameo against Cyprus in the Nations League.

Spencer joined the Yorkshire club from Cliftonville in the summer of 2020 but is clearly someone that the Terriers are hoping to keep around for years to come.
