Fulham are genuinely tempted to make a firm move for Christian Eriksen, with the player currently seeking a way back into the game, Football League World has been told.
The Danish international last played for Inter Milan but was denied the opportunity to stay and play in Serie A in October as he has an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator in his chest, with Internazionale having to terminate his contract just before Christmas 2021.
Of course, he has been working his way back to fitness after suffering a cardiac arrest during a EURO 2020 group game last summer against Finland, and is now determined to get back playing at club level.
Speculation has been that a return to English football could be on the cards, with him enjoying a fine spell at Tottenham on these shores, and Fulham are among those interested in offering him a route back to the game in this country.
Football League World has been told that the chance to ease his way back into a winning team like Fulham could appeal to him, even if they’re not currently in the Premier League.
The Dane does have interest in the top flight as well, though, and so it remains to be seen if we’ll be seeing him in the Championship or not.
