Former Chelsea and Derby coach Jody Morris is on the look-out for an EFL manager’s job this summer ahead of next season and is interested in the AFC Bournemouth role, Football League World has been told exclusively.
Morris has worked as a coach for several years now, spending time in Chelsea’s youth set-up as well as with the senior side under Frank Lampard, something he also did at Derby County in the Sky Bet Championship.
He’s eager to step into the number 1 spot and become a manager for next season, though, and is looking at EFL clubs as his potential first foray into senior management.
Football League World has been told that he would be open to the AFC Bournemouth job if it became available to him this summer, too, but time will have to tell as to what the Cherries are planning in that regard.
Bournemouth fell short in the play-off semi-finals with Brentford overturning a 1-0 deficit in the second leg to progress to Wembley and they now face a big summer where they could have to shake-up their squad.
They need to decide whether they want Jonathan Woodgate to oversee that, then, and if they do opt to change Morris is one man who would be keen to offer his services.
