Premier League trio Crystal Palace, Burnley and Watford have all been looking at Barry Bannan this summer transfer window, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

Speculation over Bannan and his future at Sheffield Wednesday is nothing new, with the midfielder regularly being linked with a move away from the Owls during his spell at Hillsborough.

Despite that, though, he has remained at the club and, as things stand, is looking on course to stay with the Owls for their League One campaign and, judging on early performances, potentially inspire them to a play-off or even promotion bid.

However, that said, you cannot escape the fact that a player of Bannan's talents should really be plying his trade higher up the football pyramid and Football League World can reveal that it's in fact a trio of Premier League clubs that have been taking a closer look at him lately, with former club Crystal Palace joined by Burnley and Watford.

Nothing is at a particularly advanced stage as things stand but the fact the three have all taken a closer look at Bannan underlines the quality and standing he still has in the game, and Sheffield Wednesday will surely be eager to get to the summer deadline with him still decked in their blue and white stripes.
