Blackburn Rovers have a watchful eye on West Ham’s interest in Armando Broja at Chelsea, with Football League World understanding that failure in that particular pursuit could lead the Hammers to Ben Brereton Diaz.

Brereton Diaz enjoyed a superb 2021/22 in the Championship with Blackburn, scoring 22 goals and registering three assists for the Ewood Park outfit.

His standing on the international stage continued to grow alongside that, with the forward a Chilean sensation.

As things stand, Blackburn have retained Brereton Diaz heading into the final 12 months of his deal, as the Championship season approaches in little over two weeks.

However, it’s Football League World’s understanding that the 23-year-old is on West Ham’s radar at this moment in time.

They are currently looking to add Broja to their squad, with Sky Sports revealing in June that they were planning a £30m raid for the Chelsea forward, who excelled for Southampton last season.

Football League World’s understanding of the situation is that Blackburn are concerned that should West Ham fail to sign Broja, their attention will turn to Brereton Diaz and luring him to the Premier League.
