Blackburn Rovers are closing in on the signing of Lincoln City full-back Tayo Edun, sources have exclusively told Football League World.
Edun has been on Lincoln’s books since January 2020, putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal at the LNER Stadium following his departure from Fulham.
The versatile full-back has since made 63 appearances in all competitions for the Imps, and played an influential role under Michael Appleton last season.
Edun scored one goal and chipped in with six assists from left-back for Lincoln, making 41 appearances in League One as the Imps reached the play-off final.
He has started this season in fine form, too, making four appearances in the league, scoring one goal and registering two assists.
Edun has attracted interest from the Championship this summer, though, with Luton Town and Peterborough United both reportedly making offers for the defender.
Football League World have now been exclusively told that it is Blackburn Rovers who look set to bring him in before Tuesday’s deadline.
Blackburn, who have yielded eight points from their opening five league games, look set to bring in competition for Harry Pickering who joined from Crewe last season.
The club have only managed to bring in three players all on loan this summer, in Ian Poveda, Leighton Clarkson and Jan Paul van Hecke.
