Luton Town have had a rough time of it this week with manager Nathan Jones leaving for Stoke City yesterday.

It was always a possibility given the ability Jones has shown as a boss but the timing for the club perhaps couldn't have been much worse with a huge trip to Sunderland this weekend.

The players that remain, though, have more than enough about them to get a result regardless, as the Hatters look to get in a new manager as swiftly as possible.

Who that is, of course, remains to be seen but talkSPORT's Ian Abrahams is of the opinion that Bury manager and former striker Ryan Lowe could be well in the frame:

An early leading candidate, then, with Lowe finally earning the permanent Bury job after a few seasons dipping in and out as caretaker.

The Verdict

Lowe seems an early front-runner for the Luton job according to 'Moose,' then, and you could see why he might be a decent fit.

A bright young coach, Lowe has got Bury playing some hugely impressive attacking football in League Two - much as Jones did last season with the Hatters.

A potential fit in that respect, then, but the club needs to make sure whoever they employ ticks more than just one box.
