Aston Villa picked up a much-needed point on Saturday evening as they drew 1-1 away to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Conor Hourihane's free-kick in second-half stoppage time cancelled out Bradley Dack's 75th-minute opener to ensure the two sides shared the spoils.

After the match club captain James Chester spoke to the club about the result and the improved performance saying it "could not have been much worse" than the Sheffield United one.

But it was an interview that seemed to rub the Villa faithful up the wrong way for a number of reasons.

The centre-back described the result as a "good point away from home" which some fans took as the club setting their standards too low, thinking they should be beating the newly promoted League One club.

Others simply took issue with the way Chester came across in the interview, with many saying he does not have the presence to be club captain.
