Charlton Athletic were dealt another heavy blow on Wednesday evening after Steven Fletcher's strike in the fifth minute of stoppage time condemned Lee Bowyer's side to a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

The Owls striker headed the ball home from close range with seconds remaining to break Charlton hearts in Yorkshire, as the Addicks dropped a valuable point and succumbed to their tenth defeat away from home in the Championship this season.

It is not the first time this campaign that Bowyer's side have conceded late on, with Hull City also snatching a goal in stoppage time to level the scores when the two sides met in December at The Valley.
