It's been a mixed season for Derby County in the Championship but following the appointment of Gary Rowett.

Inconsistent form for the majority of the campaign has been the Rams' downfall, with excellent spells in form being clouded out by dips that have seen them at times, tumble drastically down the table.

This yo-yo effect has essentially prevented Derby from really mounting a promotion push for the past few seasons now and it's clear if they are to have any success going forward, they really need to find some consistency.

There's hope that they'll find that through Gary Rowett, who proved during his time with Birmingham he's excellent at grounding out results, albeit with some pretty average players indeed.

But littered in this current crop of Derby County players are individuals that haven't been at all good enough all season.

So with that in mind, here's TWO Derby County players who have seriously underperformed this season...

Darren Bent

12 goals is a decent haul for a striker who perhaps isn't going to make it much further than the Championship, but for seasoned Premier League and England veteran Darren Bent, we'd really expecting this number to be higher.

He's got bags of experience playing against some of the worlds best and at times this season, he's really missed the mark for the Rams.

The former Villa man is certainly the sort of player who should really be bagging 20 goals a season at this level.

Ikechi Anya

Again, another player with plenty of international pedigree in this Derby side is Ikechi Anya, who is struggling to break into the first-team of late.

The former Watford man hasn't held down in the Rams starting XI all season really and again, for a player who has competed at the top level on both the domestic and international stage, you expect better.

With an undoubted clearout well-needed this summer, Anya could be one of the players facing the axe after a poor campaign.
