Alex Neil has blasted West Bromwich Albion's players and coaching staff for the way they reacted in the build-up to Darnell Fisher's red card on Tuesday night.

The Scot witnessed his Preston North End side be outclassed by the league leaders, with first-half goals from Hal Robson-Kanu and Jake Livermore securing a 2-0 home win for the Baggies.

North End's chances of sparking what would have been a miraculous comeback were over when Fisher was sent off on the hour mark at the Hawthorns.

The right-back went into a 50/50 challenge with Robinson for a loose ball on halfway, but his lunging challenge was late and mistimed and he was shown a straight red card.

Speaking to the press after the game, Neil admitted that he had no complaints with the result - but their reaction to the tackle leading to the red card, he wasn't happy with.

Via Birmingham Live, he said: "What happens is that it was close to the dugouts, he goes in, Callum jumps up and squeals, the whole bench rises up, the fans start to shout and all of a sudden it is 'where is my red card?'.

"It is the pantomime part of football isn't it? If that is at home, the likelihood is no one reacts and the ref gives a yellow card."

Naturally, plenty of Albion fans have had their say on Neil's comments, after moving 10 points clear of third place in midweek...
