West Brom have enjoyed a superb season so far and one man who played an important role earlier in the campaign was full-back Nathan Ferguson.

The academy graduate was handed his debut on the opening day as Albion beat Nottingham Forest and he continued to start in the coming months.

However, with his contract expiring this summer, talks over a new deal stalled and a move to Crystal Palace in January was set to go through until an issue with his medical came up.

Despite that, the youngster is still expected to leave in the summer and Express & Star reporter Joseph Masi has revealed that the player has set his heart on playing in the top-flight next season. Whilst that could mean a transfer to Palace still happens, Slaven Bilic's side are expected to win promotion themselves, so that could mean that Ferguson may stay.

The prospect of keeping the defender is one that divided the fans, with some arguing he can't stay after his conduct, although others recognise the ability he has.
