QPR have endured an awful start to the Championship season, sitting flat bottom of the league with no points on the board and reeling from a 7 - 1 thrashing in their last outing.

With only the loan market available to Steve McClaren to bring about any changes to his squad, it looks like it is going to be a long hard season for the Loftus Road faithful.

So are the Hoops doomed and heading for the third tier of English football?

We discuss.....

It is too early to tell

The way QPR have started, you would be forgiven in thinking they are going to survive.

There needn’t be any knee-jerk reactions to the abomination that was the 7-1 defeat.

But on current form, they look destined to be in a relegation dogfight for much of the season.

It all depends on how the next two weeks go with loans as they are under embargo in January.

If it is a poor window, they will be doomed - if they can get what they need they might just be okay.

Gary Hutchinson

I think so, yes.

I know it is early and I know there’s a lot of football to play, but they’ve been beyond woeful so far this season.

McClaren isn’t a manager in my opinion and his awful transfer policy and recent decisions have underlined that.

They’ll be fighting against Rotherham, but they loaned the Millers one of their best midfielders.

It’s bizarre. I give him until November.

Jay Williams

I wouldn't write them off just yet but something drastic needs to change immediately.

Steve McClaren has not had the immediate impact he desired and he will quickly lose the fans and the dressing room if there are many more heavy defeats.

QPR need a win to get the ball rolling in the league this season and that could be their turning point.

They have some good players but McClaren didn't get their summer transfer business right and QPR are suffering now as a result.

George Dagless

They're struggling.

They have good young players but in this sort of situation you need more old heads.

They haven't been able to add who they'd have liked and this next weeks or so is going to be make or break.
