A number of Nottingham Forest supporters have been heaping praise on forward Lewis Grabban following his influential display in the Reds’ 2-0 win at Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Forest headed into the game aiming to finally secure their first three points in the Championship this season with Chris Hughton having been sacked in the week following the 2-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough.

Steven Reid, in his first game as caretaker manager, elected to move Grabban back into his more familiar centre forward role, after Hughton had started him as a number ten in his final two league matches in charge of Forest. That saw the 33-year-old lead the line in a 3-4-2-1 setup.

Grabban managed to deliver a strong performance at Huddersfield. He was able to showcase his leadership qualities throughout to help drive Forest on to a much-needed win.

The forward managed to register his second league goal of the season in the 22nd minute in predatory style. That came as he produced a good diving header to convert Brennan Johnson’s dangerous delivery into the box.

The 33-year-old also managed to win both of the duels that he contested, maintain a 90% passing accuracy and complete one successful dribble in the 90 minutes.

Many Nottingham Forest fans were thrilled to see Grabban back towards his best levels and were pleased that he had been returned to his more natural centre forward role.
