After four straight defeats, Preston North End returned to winning ways on Tuesday night, running out 2-1 winners over Fulham at Deepdale.

In what was an eventful first half, Sean Maguire fired North End ahead after 23 minutes, before both sides were reduced to ten men before half time, with Dennis Odoi and Joe Rafferty sent off for poor challenges on Patrick Bauer and Joe Bryan respectively.

Despite that, Preston continued to push forward after the break, and would double their lead just seven minutes into the second half with a hugely popular goal, as David Nugent fired in on the rebound at the second attempt from close range, after Brad Potts had seen his initial effort saved by Marek Rodak.

That goal was Nugent's first since returning to the club in the summer, and came 12 years after his last strike in a North End shirt, prompting jubilant scenes in the Deepdale stands from the fans, something which appeared to spill over into social media as those of a Preston faithful took to Twitter to react to the veteran striker's first goal back in Preston colours.

Here, we take a look at what some of those fans had to say.
