Nottingham Forest have had a rich history in both English and European football, where they have won an array of trophies.

The Reds won the European Cup twice in the 1970’s and 80’s under legendary manager Brian Clough, making it their proudest era.

Forest also have a rich history in English cup competitions – they have won the FA Cup twice and the League Cup four times.

The last time Forest won the FA Cup was in 1959, so you could say its been a barren run for the Reds since then.

There have been a few good runs along the way, but Forest fans long for a cup run.

They haven’t had much to shout about in terms of a promotion in recent seasons, so a cup run would be nice.

Here, we look at the best Forest cup moments.

Nottingham Forest won the 1958/59 FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Luton Town in front of a 100,000-strong Wembley Stadium.

Roy Dwight and Tommy Wilson scored the goals for the Reds, in what was their last cup triumph.

Forest’s latest cup upset was when they triumphed over big-spenders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

City had a team including the likes of Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany and Elano, and Forest played them off the park with a deserved 3-0 win.

In 1990/91, Forest finished runners-up, with Tottenham Hotspur coming up trumps on the day.

The Reds went 1-0 up through a Stuart Pearce goal but were not able to hold on, and lost in extra time through a Des Walker own goal.

Despite the loss, it was still an exciting run to the final and is one of Forest’s better moments.
