Blackburn Rovers travel to Bournemouth in the third round of the League Cup with 27-year-old midfielder Jack Rodwell in contention to play a part for his new club.

Rodwell joined Rovers last month following a troubled spell at Sunderland and is slowly working his way back to fitness having only turned out for Rovers U23 side since joining.

So how will Sunderland fans feel if Rodwell makes his senior debut for Blackburn tonight?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Some will probably feel some resentment towards him for getting a game elsewhere when he was awful for Sunderland.

But I would imagine the majority are none too fussed about it because he is no longer their player and was a sign of the bad times at the club which have since left.

To worry about someone who is no longer in your team is a little daft, he can’t affect Sunderland’s season and of course, players come and go so there is no need to dwell on Rodwell and his life at Blackburn now.

Gary Hutchinson

I don’t suppose it will matter an awful lot, will it?

They’ve moved on. He’s moved on.

He won’t ever be a popular man on Wearside but I doubt they’ll be burning effigies in the street.

The time for that has passed.

George Dagless

Some might feel a little aggrieved.

Rodwell and Sunderland didn't end things on the best terms but at the end of the day things do move on.

The Black Cats will only care about the players at the club right now and at least they appear to be performing at the moment.
