‘Some good news finally’ – Many Wigan Athletic fans react to significant departure

Wigan Athletic are once again searching for a new manager following the departure of John Sheridan to fellow League One side Swindon Town.
Sheridan joined the Latics in September after a short spell in Ireland with Waterford, where he took charge of just eight matches.
However, the 56-year-old didn’t last much longer at the DW Stadium, managing just 15 matches in all competitions, recording just three victories during that period.
The last of those 15 was a penalty shoot-out defeat to Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Cup, which came three days after Sheridan suffered one of the worst results of his managerial career as his Wigan were embarrassingly knocked out of the FA Cup by National League side Chorley in the first-round.
Wigan are yet to name a replacement, but the Latics faithful are more than happy to see the back of Sheridan, who earned just seven points from a possible 30 in his 10 League One matches as manager.

Here, we’ve been looking at how Wigan fans have been reacting to the news of Sheridan’s departure Twitter.
Admire him for taking on a difficult task. But fair to say it’s not worked out. Even factoring in the injuries.
I do wonder if the plan all along was to move on at first opportunity. Seems rather convenient how quickly this has all come about. #wafc

Initial thoughts on appointment were ‘fair play mate’ and ‘I know this is short term’
After listening to interviews ‘he’s honest, but gonna ruin young lads confidence’
On the whole, glad he’s gone #wafc https://t.co/BUXH8bWotr
