“Gary is a top, top player who deserves to be playing at a higher level than the Championship and he has proven that,” admitted Solskjaer.

“Nothing has come up yet, no offers have been received for Gary.” The Manchester United legend also confirmed that Cardiff has received enquiries for several of his players and that their squad is too big as per. “We have a big squad and it’s not sustainable to have that amount of first-team players on contract,” said the Norwegian.

Reports are that Steven Caulker, who started every single one of the Premier League games this season, and goalkeeper David Marshall are among the players who could leave the club.

Gary Medel is included in Chile’s provisional World Cup squad.
