Leeds United’s pursuit of Matej Vydra has hit the rocks this week, with the Whites unimpressed by the forward’s wage demands.
A report in the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier this week suggested that Leeds were cooling their interest in Vydra, who was demanding wages beyond what the Whites were willing to pay.
The 26-year-old Czech forward bagged 22 goals last season, helping Derby County to sixth in the Championship table along the way.
Frank Lampard is now in charge at Pride Park, with the 40-year-old delivering an interview to the Derby Telegraph about Vydra.
Lampard claims he expects Vydra to remain with the Rams, because: “He is our player.”
As expected, Lampard’s update has reached Leeds’ supporters, who have delivered their thoughts on the situation involving Vydra.
Here is the best of their reaction…
Google Translate; He’s off to Leeds and I can’t stop it happening

They have to get him off their books pdq- need to drastically reduce the wage bill, and he’s on big money (and wants more) he’ll be gone soon as the money’s down before deadline

We were never going to sign him.

Sounds like he's on the move

Sounds all a bit non commital to me. If we don’t sign anybody else and we go back with another offer I think we still get him…

Sounds like us. Player sold within a week.

Of course, after updates earlier in the week, some Leeds supporters aren’t expecting to see Vydra sign.
A lot, however, believe that the forward could well be on the brink of leaving Pride Park.
