Middlesbrough goalkeeper Darren Randolph has taken to Twitter to have his say on the Republic of Ireland’s 0-0 draw with Denmark in Copenhagen, in a result that puts the Irishman firmly into the driving seat in their pursuit of World Cup qualification.

A win at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday would send Martin O’Neill’s side to Russia next summer, and shot-stopper Randolph has been credited for a magnificent display, as a number of fine saves frustrated the Danes.

Randolph has been in solid form for club side Boro this term, with Garry Monk’s men conceding just thirteen times in their opening sixteen league encounters.

The 30-year-old joined the Riverside outfit in a multi-million pound deal this summer after failing to tie down a regular starting spot at former club West Ham United, and qualification to football’s crowning tournament would round off an excellent year for the player.

Fans took to Twitter to congratulate the man between the sticks, with many remarking upon his fine form in the goalless draw…
