It has been a difficult few months for Hull City on their return to the Sky Bet Championship, with the Tigers struggling to adapt to life back in the second-tier.
Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday has left Hull 20th in the Championship table, just three points above the relegation zone and facing the possibility of yet another fight for survival.
Leonid Slutsky, who oversaw just four victories from the campaign’s opening 20 fixtures, lost his job following Saturday’s draw with Sheffield Wednesday, with the Hillsborough result the final straw for Hull’s owners.
This morning, Hull have announced the appointment of Nigel Adkins on an 18-month deal, with the 52-year-old and his assistant, Andy Crosby, set to take charge as of today.
