Middlesbrough succumbed to yet another disappointing result at the weekend, after being held to a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers at the Riverside Stadium.
Tony Pulis’ men were looking to put the pressure back on Leeds United after recently slipping out of the Championship’s automatic promotion places.
But, the North East club got off to the worst possible start, after Mo Besic’s early red-card instantly led to a Charlie Mulgrew strike, which put Rovers ahead in the early stage of the game.
Boro have Britt Assombalonga to thank after levelling the scores just after the hour mark, but ultimately, the sending off cost Boro, as they failed to get a foot hold of the game.
Besic has found it difficult at the Riverside this season since returning back on loan this season, after playing an integral role in Pulis’ men’s promotion push last term.
Here, we take a look at Boro fans’ reactions to his overall performance on Saturday afternoon…
Only one person to blame for the red card today & that’s Besic. His hanging on to the ball too long has been happening for weeks. Ok if he’s high up the pitch effecting things but he’s dropping deep running with it when a pass will do. Nowhere near his level of last season #boro

Unpopular opinion. And it’s not just because of today. But besic is so overrated. That mistake has been coming for weeks and weeks… he constantly fucks about with the ball in the wrong places and doesn’t have a clue when to pass and when not to pass. #boro

Besic let us down today. 3 games out now and can't see him getting back in.#Boro

Besic hasn't been the same player this season. Constantly tries to play in wrong areas and today was caught out & cost us massively. If Blackburn had any ambition they would have killed is off 1st half. 2nd half desperation got us back into it. Must do a lot better #boro

Besic is just a taller Forshaw #boro

That has been my concern with Besic ever since he joined us last seen. What was he thinking??? #Boro
