Plenty of Ipswich Town fans have reacted to latest comments made by Paul Lambert following the club’s 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday evening.
The first six months of the League One season was quite a successful period for Ipswich, having sat top of the league on occasion – but life at Portman Road since the turn of 2020 has taken a massive nose dive.
Having sat in the automatic promotion places last month, Ipswich now find themselves 9th in the standings and struggling to keep up with the play-off chasing sides.
Winning just three of their last ten games, which includes a run of three defeats lately – has left many fans questioning their sides ability to bounce back and return to the Championship.

Tuesday evening’s league encounter with Fleetwood offered Lambert’s side the chance to bounce back, but the hosts struggled to create any clear cut chances – largely being dominated in terms of chances by the visitors.
Ched Evans’ 40th minute strike proved enough for a Fleetwood win, meaning the away side moved into sixth position, having one game in hand over the majority of the top six sides.
Following the game, Ipswich boss Lambert answered questions from various reporters and one comment has gained quite the response from fans of the club.
East Anglian Daily Times reporter Stuart Watson shared the comments made by Lambert, which read:
Paul Lambert: “Everybody is suffering. Without a doubt everybody is suffering. The whole football club, the supporters, players, staff. Everybody is suffering. Because the club is not winning. The expectancy levels on us are huge and we’re finding that hard to deal with.” #itfc

Not hearing good things from behind the scenes at #ITFC either. Sounds like real issues between the owner and management over at least 2 specific issues. Not good.

I’m finding it bloody hard at the moment…

The pressure of expecting better than 28 pts out of the last 75?! There is no high expectation; just better than relegation form in league one!!!

So he blames the fans for losing…
