Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez signed a new contract with the club yesterday, keeping him at Elland Road for an extra two seasons.

The Spanish midfielder’s contract was due to expire at the end of this season, but the Whites have moved to secure his services for two more years, meaning his deal now runs until the summer of 2022.

Since then, the attacking midfielder has been a crucial part of the Leeds team that look to gain promotion back to the Premier League. Hernandez has made a total of 132 appearances for the Whites, scoring 29 goals and registering 32 assists, which is the most fruitful spell at any club in his long career.

This season has not been the greatest by his high standards as he battles through a muscular injury that had kept him out of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad since September’s 1-1 draw with Derby County. He has since returned to feature as a late substitute in Leeds’ last two games.
