It was a year of progression on the field for Stoke City in 2020 with the Potters having shown sides of building something really positive during Michael O’Neill’s time in charge of the club.

The Potters enter 2021 firmly in and amongst the race for promotion from the Championship and there have been plenty of signs that O’Neill’s side have both the quality and resilience that is needed to help them challenge for a place in the top six come the end of the campaign.

O’Neill has implemented a clear way of playing and has managed to build the Potters into one of the most solid and well-drilled teams in the Championship. Stoke have at times lacked goals, but they still have quality in the final third and if they can find more creativity they have every chance of making the play-offs.
