Coventry City will be aiming to build upon the 12th-place finish that they achieved in the Championship earlier this year by making a positive start to the 2022/23 campaign.

Set to face Sunderland on the opening weekend of the new term, the Sky Blues have managed to bolster their squad ahead of this fixture by securing the services of Kasey Palmer.

Coventry have also recently opted to part ways with a number of players as the likes of Declan Drysdale, Josh Pask and Jordan Shipley have all sealed moves to new clubs.

Currently stepping up their preparation for the upcoming season by training in Spain, it will be interesting to see whether the Sky Blues make any progress when it comes to their pursuit of transfer targets in the coming weeks.

Here, we have decided to take a look at the Coventry headlines that you might have missed...

According to a recent report from Football Insider, Coventry have rejected multiple bids from Burnley this summer for attacking midfielder Callum O'Hare.

It is understood that whilst the Sky Blues are determined to retain the services of O'Hare this summer, they may need to brace themselves for an improved offer from the Clarets before the window closes.

A key player for Coventry, O'Hare managed to step up his performance levels last season.

In the 45 games that he played in the Championship for the Sky Blues, O'Hare scored five goals and provided eight assists for his team-mates.

Mark Robins admits he would love to re-sign Ian Maatsen on loan

Speaking to Coventry Live earlier this week, Mark Robins admitted that he would love to re-sign Ian Maatsen on loan from Chelsea this summer if the opportunity arises.

As per the Evening Standard, Maatsen has rejected the chance to secure a move to Feyenoord as he wants to either fight for a place at Chelsea or seal another temporary exit from the club this summer.

During his spell with Coventry, the full-back produced some promising performances for the club in the Championship.

As well as providing four direct goal contributions in 40 appearances, Maatsen made 2 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game in the second-tier (as per WhoScored).
