Aston Villa have hit a bit of a lull over the last couple of months, winning just one of their last seven matches and falling behind the race for a top-six place in the process. 

They now sit in 12th, five points behind Derby County who currently occupy the final play-off spot with a desire for fresh faces increasing by the day among the fans.

But they were given some positive news today as it was revealed that winger Andre Green had been recalled from his loan spell with Portsmouth.

Green made the move to Fratton Park at the end of August and was due to stay for the duration of the season but has made just six League One appearances under Kenny Jackett in that time, scoring once.

He has had a bit more success in the cup competitions, scoring in both FA Cup appearances for the club as well as bagging two in four EFL Trophy outings.

The 20-year-old is very highly-rated among the Villa Park faithful so it was a decision that went down very well with them.
