Aston Villa have started to show the sort of form that made them one of the favourites for promotion from the Championship this season.

Villa sent out a statement to their promotion rivals when they comfortably beat Frank Lampard's Derby County at the iPro Stadium 3-0 at the weekend.

Dean Smith is finally starting to find his feet in the managerial hot seat at Villa Park and many Villa supporters will firmly believe that he is the man to take them to the Premier League.

The Villa boss will be hoping that his side can build on back-to-back wins win they host local rivals, Birmingham City at Villa Park after the international break.

But this Villa side are far from the finished article, and Smith will be looking to address a number of issues heading into the international break.

What problems will Smith be keen to fix in the next two weeks?

Find out here....

Villa have been playing one striker up-front this season which has certainly raised a considerable amount of questions as to whether Smith can keep all of his strikers in-form.

Tammy Abraham has been in good form this season, but his impressive record has meant that Jonathan Kodjia has been shifted out to a wide position where he isn't as effective.

Scott Hogan has also been limited to appearances from the substitutes bench, and Smith will be hoping he can make an impact on the squad in the next couple of weeks.

Dean Smith is starting to figure out his strongest starting XI for the promotion chasing side.

But with this, it does come with a negative that could potentially have an impact on their chances of promotion this season.

The likes of Mile Jedinak, Henri Lansbury and Scott Hogan are just a small number of players that will be frustrated with their lack of game time under the new Villa boss so Smith will surely be looking to address their futures soon.
