Aston Villa have finally confirmed the appointment of Brentford boss Dean Smith as their new head coach, after a week of speculation.

The 47-year old, who is a lifelong Villa fan, has done a magnificent job at Griffin Park over the last three years and has transformed the Bees into real promotion contenders over the last few years.

Villa fans will be relieved at this appointment, but there won't be another man as relieved as Villa forward Scott Hogan.

Not only was he a completely forgotten man in Bruce's plans, but Hogan has been a magnificent player under Smith's management before.

Hogan endured three impressive years at Brentford, however, the first year-and-a-half was spent on the sidelines through injury.

But under Smith, this could be a new chapter for Hogan at Villa Park, and here, we take to Twitter to get the Villa fans' views with them feeling pretty upbeat about his chances...
