Nathan Byrne is set to have a medical at Derby County this afternoon ahead of a move from Wigan Athletic, as per the Telegraph’s John Percy.
Derby are on the lookout for a new right-sided full-back, with Jayden Bogle leaving the club to join Sheffield United last week.
Bogle, along with left-sided full-back Max Lowe, joined the Blades in a double deal worth around £15million, leaving Phillip Cocu with a need to replace him.

According to John Percy of the Telegraph, Wigan Athletic’s Nathan Byrne is close to joining Derby, with a medical scheduled for later today.
Byrne registered eight assists in 39 Championship appearances last term, and is one of the best attacking full-backs in the division.
The 28-year-old is an accomplished full-back for this level, and is clearly a player who can bomb forward and create chances for his teammates.
Byrne looks to be a like-for-like replacement for Bogle, and due to Wigan’s precarious financial situaiton, Derby will be acquiring his services for a cut-price deal.
Here, then, we take a look at Derby fans’ reactions to this latest transfer news…
I tell you what, with Byrne, Te Wierik, Marshall and possibly Jozwiak coming in and almost all the deadwood going out, I'd say we've had one of our best transfer windows in years!

Happy with the Nathan Byrne news, good player. Can’t comment on the potential Jozwiak transfer as I, like every other Derby fan, had never heard of him or seen him play until he was linked with us. #DCFC

Byrne more experienced, played more games, more assists and key passes than Bogle last season. Previously Wigan's Player of the Year. Think we're getting a very sound signing here. (Also nice graphic @JakeBarker1212) #dcfc https://t.co/p6TJcENXAV

Of course we don't know how things will work out in the end, but does feel were getting a very like for like on Bogle here, with a lottt of change! (Obviously a bit older)
