Derby County suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Bristol City on Tuesday night.

Former Rams player Andreas Weimann opened the scoring for Lee Johnson's side, before Josh Brownhill doubled their advantage just before half-time.

Jack Marriott pulled one back late on when he fired into the top corner, but it wasn't to be for Phillip Cocu's side.

It was a match which both sides would have been looking at with eagerness, as both sets of supporters set their eyes on a top six challenge.

The victory tonight was the Robins' first at Pride Park since 2011, something of a hoodoo that Lee Johnson will be grateful to have broken.

This was Bristol City's second win of the season and lifted them up to 7th in the table, whilst Derby dropped to 11th.

The Rams face West Brom next, also at Pride Park with Cocu's side looking for an instant reaction after the defeat tonight.
