Slobodan Tedic has joined Sky Bet League One side Barnsley on loan for the rest of the season, with him joining from Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Tykes have had a rather eventful few months to say the least, with a change of manager and division taking place of late, and now they're looking to bounce back into the Sky Bet Championship at the first time of asking.

Their season did not start how they would have liked last weekend, though, with Plymouth Argyle beating them on the opening day, and it shows the Tykes are going to have to work hard if they are to win a promotion straight back.

They keep adding to their side, though, with Slobodan Tedic the latest to join the club, coming in from Manchester City on loan for the duration of the campaign.

He's evidently excited at the prospect of regular first-team football in England, too, with him speaking to Barnsley's website for the first time since signing and using it to underline his ambitions.

He said:

“It has always been a dream of mine to play in England and now I can say that I'm closer to achieving that.

"I will give 100%, I hope to play well and I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates and the staff at this great club."

The Verdict

It looks a decent signing for the Tykes and it'll be interesting to see how he does in League One.

He has had some loans in the Netherlands and Serbia and is now looking to see just what playing first-team football in England is going to be like.
