Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic will look to prioritise the signing of a winger during the January transfer window, as per a recent report by The Star.

The Blades have had a mixed start to the campaign so far under the Serb and will be looking to improve their consistency over the next few months.

Jokanovic signed a total of five new players during the summer transfer window but in the end missed out on a player to strengthen a position that he feels lacks depth.

Therefore it seems likely that he will revisit a move for an out and out winger as he looks to add more natural width to his team's play in games that are tightly contested.

The likes of Morgan Gibbs-White and Ben Osborn have been used in roles out wide this term, however neither of the two midfielders are out and out wingers by trade.

Manchester United's Amad Diallo was previously mentioned as a potential target for the Blades earlier on in the year, however the player ended up remaining with the Red Devils form the time being.

The Verdict

The addition of another winger could work wonders for this Sheffield United side as it would give them another threatening outlet when in possession of the ball.

Ideally the new recruit will have plenty of pace and creativity that will allow the Blades to get up the pitch with ease.

Adding this weapon to their arsenal could not only make them far less predictable to play against but also give Jokanovic the opportunity to experiment with some other formations should he choose to do so.

It'll certainly be interesting to see what type of player the Blades go for, with there sure to be some favourable loan moves available in the winter window when January rolls around.
