Sheffield United have returned to Championship action magnificently since the international break, scoring 11 goals and picking up seven points in their three games since.

It now appears that their goalscoring capabilities might improve more as David McGoldrick and Lys Mousset, as confirmed by the club's website.

Billy Sharp has been primarily deployed as a striker in the absence of the striking duo, with Rhian Brewster operating on the wing and Oli McBurnie playing more of a deputy role in the league.

The Blades netted just once in their opening three games, but it seems that their late August business has helped them get their season back on track.

Speaking to the club's media about the returning strikers, Slavisa Jokanovic said: “They both started working with us today. This is positive for us and them too.

"They will need some time to be available to compete, but they are working today at the same level with the group who didn’t participate last game.”

The verdict

Going into the international break, it seemed that The Blades were in need of the pair returning, however, things are starting to work out.

The acquisitions of Conor Hourihane and Morgan Gibbs-White, coupled with the emergence of Iliman Ndiaye, have helped the Yorkshire club create more opportunities, and subsequently, Sheffield United are posing more of an attacking threat.

Sharp has proven to be an important player already this season, with his intelligence and desire to see his team in possession, being two of the more prominent abilities he has displayed thus far.

However, adding competition levels will only bolster the club's chances of promotion this season.
