New West Brom boss Slaven Bilic could make a move for Fenerbahce's Tolgy Arslan as he looks to bring in his own players during the transfer window.

The 28-year-old midfielder is someone the Albion manager knows well, having signed Arslan for Besiktas in January 2015 and he went on to feature regularly during a relatively successful period for the club.

However, he was struggling for appearances at the start of the previous campaign and made the move to Istanbul rivals Fener earlier this year. Arslan had a positive influence on the side, helping them to move away from the relegation zone after a surprisingly poor start to the season.

Despite that, it has been reported in Turkish media outlet Fanatik that the midfield enforcer could be on the move again, with West Brom showing an interest.

Given his pedigree, this would be a coup for the Baggies and he would provide some top experience to an Albion side that will be on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

That's because Gareth Barry and James Morrison will leave as their contracts expire this month, whilst Stefan Johansen has returned to Fulham and there are doubts about Rekeem Harper's future at the club.

The Verdict

This would be a very good signing for West Brom and a real show of support for Bilic who clearly rates the player.

Arslan is a reliable, competitive midfielder that would bring a lot to the team, although you would imagine he may be commanding a decent salary which may be a problem.

It's now down to Bilic and the recruitment team to see if a deal is realistic and this would be a smart signing if it comes off.
