Slaven Bilic has stated that he's not going to be obsessed with clean sheets, using Leeds United as a comparison to his West Brom side.

The Baggies have been in impressive form in the new campaign and haven't yet faced defeat but despite this there are still things for Bilic's side to work on.

West Brom haven't yet kept a clean sheet in the league this season, although they do have Ahmed Hegazi making a return to fitness which will be pleasing to see.

Bilic isn't overly worried about that aspect of the game, and has said that teams such as Leeds are doing the same sort of thing.

Speaking to Birmingham Mail, Bilic said: “You can be sloppy and keep clean sheets. It doesn’t happen often, but it happens. Clean sheets aren’t just defending well; there’s an element of luck, the game is 90 minutes.

“It’s easy to talk, but if we do them it should put us in a better position to keep a clean sheet.

“I’m not going to be obsessed with clean sheets, clean sheets, clean sheets. Let’s improve on those things, and then the clean sheets will come.

“That’s the area - I mean it’s obvious. Look at the teams around us - Leeds conceded a goal on Saturday, a very sloppy goal, in the 93rd minute at home and they were too open.

“But they’ve conceded only three or four goals, so they’re very good. You can’t guarantee a clean sheet but you can make it harder for them."

The Verdict

Bilic will be very happy with his sides progress after a summer of mass changes, and they've proven that they've got valuable team spirit having come from behind in their last two games.

Clean sheets aren't everything but they can certainly go along way in this division to trying to claim a place in the Premier League.

They'll be hoping they can keep up this excellent start against another team in fine form, QPR, next Saturday.
