West Brom boss Slaven Bilic has revealed he was 'disappointed' after Albion were denied a stoppage time winner against Nottingham Forest in a feisty clash this afternoon.

Callum Robinson's late effort was disallowed after it hit Kyle Bartley on the line and he was flagged offside but replays show the defender was past the goal-line.

However, the officials believed Bartley was interfering with Tobias Figueiredo and prevented him from blocking the shot - although it seemed highly unlikely that the centre-back would have got near the ball.

And, Bilic told Albion's official site that he wasn't pleased with the decision.

"The referee said Kyle Bartley was interrupting their player (for the disallowed goal at the end) but they were in the goal. They didn’t influence the game. Kyle was definitely onside so for me it was a completely good goal and we are disappointed with the decision.

"We are all disappointed, I’m disappointed but if we continue to play like this with the same patterns, energy and quality then we have a really good chance."

In a highly controversial game, Forest were aggrieved at several decisions, with Jake Livermore fortunate to stay on the pitch and the midfielder appeared to foul Sammy Ameobi in the build-up to the hosts second goal.

The Reds salvaged a point thanks to a superb strike from Matty Cash in stoppage time.

The verdict

You can understand Bilic's frustration at the end of the game as there was nothing Bartley could do and there was also no way Figueiredo was going to stop the ball, so it really should have stood.

But, in the bigger picture he will realise that Albion had the rub of the green today as Livermore's tackle was shocking, it was a clear foul for the second goal and Forest could have had a penalty late on as well.

Overall though, he has to be pleased with how his team played as they forced more chances, controlled the game for large spells but couldn't hold on.
