West Bromwich Albion duo Grady Diangana and Kieran Gibbs are expected to be fit for the top-of-the-table clash with Leeds United on New Year's Day, head coach Slaven Bilic has revealed.

The duo have both been important players for Albion so far this season, playing a key role in the Baggies' promising start to their campaign under Bilic.

Diangana - who has been one of the standout players in the Championship this season with five goals and five assists - suffered a back injury in the 3-2 win over Birmingham City earlier this month and has missed the last three matches.

Meanwhile, left-back Gibbs missed Sunday's 2-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough, after picking up an injury in the 1-1 draw at Barnsley on Boxing Day.

However, Bilic has confirmed that both players are expected to be available for the huge clash with Leeds - who are now top of the league table on goal difference - at The Hawthorns on New Year's Day.

He told the Birmingham Mail: “They have a big chance. They should be available. [With Gibbs at Barnsley] It was just cramp but obviously it was a big cramp!”

The Verdict

This is very good news for West Brom. Diangana has been excellent for the Baggies so far this season and he's been a big miss for them over the last few matches.

It'll be a major boost for Albion to have him fit again for the clash with Leeds and I'm sure the player will be determined to make a big impact if he does return to action.

As for Gibbs, he's arguably the best left-back in the Championship and it'll be a major boost for the Baggies to have a player of his experience available for such an important game.
