Norwich City are only going to agree to Emi Buendia's sale if they receive a crazy offer for their playmaker in the region of £40-50m.

Buendia has been in fine form for the Canaries this season in the Championship, scoring seven times and registered a further six assists in 20 appearances. His form for Daniel Farke's side has led them to the top of the table and well in contention for a second promotion in three seasons.

The 24-year-old was a bright spark in Norwich's sole Premier League campaign under Farke, which has led to top-flight clubs keeping tabs on him in the Championship.

Quiz: Are these 15 Norwich City facts genuine or not?

One name that will not go away at this stage is Arsenal, who are resigned to finally signing off Mesut Ozil's transfer.

However, it doesn't appear as if that interest from North London is fazing Buendia, with Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol claiming he's focused on delivering Premier League football once more to Carrow Road.

Discussing the future of Buendia on Sky Sports' Transfer Show - as quoted by TEAMtalk - Solhekol revealed it will take £40-50m to get Norwich considering a sale: “One player they (Arsenal) have been watching very closely is Emi Buendia at Norwich City.

“I have been in touch with some people close to the player today. They say the situation is that the player himself is focused on his job at Norwich. They are doing really well in the Championship, top of the table. Norwich can see the Premier League on the horizon.

“The problem Arsenal would have with trying to sign him this month is how much it would cost. Norwich are a very well-run club with a sustainable business model. I have been told it would take a crazy offer for them to be tempted to sell him this month. A crazy offer we are looking at somewhere between £40m and £50m.”

The Verdict

Norwich have Buendia on a handsome contract and they are under no pressure to sell this month.

Their position becomes 10x stronger in the summer if they've won promotion, when they too can offer Buendia Premier League football.

Arsenal also have Emile Smith Rowe to consider. He's doing well in the first-team now and looks a real talent.

If it's going to take £50m to sign Buendia, is it really worth it considering him?

Maybe a centre-back might be better for the Gunners.
