The injury crisis is starting to slightly ease up at Elland Road, with Patrick Bamford set to make a return to the matchday squad against Bolton today.

Marcelo Bielsa has had to do without his big-money summer signing for the majority of the season so far, however Bamford showed his talent by scoring a hat-trick for the U23s in the week.

That will have certainly given the manager food for thought ahead of the clash with the Trotters.

However, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes that the former Middlesbrough forward will have to be patient - due to the excellent form of Kemar Roofe.

"There’s no need to hurry him back with the way that Leeds have been playing and the way that Roofe has been playing up there on his own," he wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.

"At this moment in time it’s one up top and Roofe had several decent chances against QPR last weekend and obviously scored the two goals that won the game so I don’t think you can drop Kemar at this moment in time."

Roofe is the Whites top scorer so far in this successful campaign and is expected to lead the line again today.

The Verdict

You can't really argue with Prutton and Bamford will have to be patient initially due to the form of Roofe, as he has been outstanding.

However, it's a great problem for Bielsa to have and he knows he now has a genuine matchwinner on the bench in Bamford.

That competition between the pair could also see them raise their game in the coming weeks and it's exciting for Leeds to have such a good player back and available.
