Bournemouth must focus on 'the basics of the game' if they're to get their promotion hunt back on track, according to Keith Andrews.

The Cherries have struggled for form of late and find themselves on a four-match losing run in the Championship - an alarming sequence considering their hopes of securing an immediate return to the Premier League.

As a result Jason Tindall was sacked from his position, and according to the Sky Sports' pundit, there's no doubt that the South Coast club have lost their way over recent weeks.

Speaking about Tindall's comments, Andrews told the Sky Sports EFL Podcast: "They have lost their way, there’s no doubt about that.

“It’s quite simple but when you look at Bournemouth’s squad and the quality of that squad, if they match the opposition’s endeavour, the basics of the game and the horrible nature of the game then they should win most games in the division.

“I thought that they were gone before Christmas but it hasn’t been there in recent weeks.”

Stanislas? Brooks? – Can you name which AFC Bournemouth player scored each these 15 goals this season?

The Verdict

There's no doubting that the last few weeks have been difficult for Bournemouth.

Tipped to be promotion frontrunners, the recent form on show by the club has suggested that they're at risk of falling away from the top two with little sign of coming back.

Changes need to be made at the Vitality Stadium as this term it is crucial to make an immediate return to the top flight.
