The return of the Steel City Derby returns to our screens on Sunday afternoon, as Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United clash at Hillsborough for the first time in over five years.
The match is huge for the city, and fans across the country will eagerly keep tabs on the game with expectations of a cracker in south Yorkshire.
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has stuck his neck on the line by predicting the outcome of the game, and the former Owls midfielder has backed his form side to take the spoils.
Prutton claims the Blades go into the fixture as the clear underdogs, despite the fact that better than opponents league tally by two points.
A 3-1 home win is the expectation, with Prutton predicting that the hosts will turn the attack-minded nature of the visitors against them, hitting them on the break to ensure the bragging rights remain in the blue and white half of the city.
Blades fans will surely disagree, and Sunday will determine the accuracy of Prutton’s prediction.
Prutton surely had to back his former side in this massive Yorkshire derby, and the former winger duly obliged by forecasting a Sheffield Wednesday victory.
The Blades will certainly attack, but could be more conservative in their approach than Prutton suggests, so goals could be a little harder to come by for the hosts.
Sheffield Wednesday certainly have the better squad on paper, and although the Blades will threaten and frustrate Carlos Carvalhal’s side, they will surely be broken down by the superior side.
Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Sheffield United
Football League fans, who do you think earns the bragging rights?
