Leeds United come up against Bolton Wanderers this weekend in what seems to be a foregone conclusion to many.

Wanderers are second-bottom in the table and three points from safety with Phil Parkinson doing all he can to get the strugglers up the table, and away from the relegation places.

Bolton have won in in their last six games and have lost four during that spell.

That will be good news to Marcelo Bielsa’s side who have, on paper, the easiest fixture of teams battling it out at the top.

Leeds are third in the table and could move back to top spot with a win over the Trotters.

Two defeats in six has seen a Whites revival, and they come into this game on the back of an impressive win over Swansea City last time out.

Both teams need the three points for very different reasons, but that is what is making this game really intriguing to the neutral.

And ahead of the game, Sky Sports enlisted the help of footballer-turned-pundit David Prutton to predict the outcome of this particular fixture.

The EFL presenter said: “Leeds will be well rested after ten days off, which is an awful lot in this league believe me!

“In that time, though, they have seen Norwich and Sheffield United climb above them, and they will be desperate to force their way back into the top two.

“Bolton present them with a great opportunity to do just that.

“They were completely outclassed by Norwich last weekend, and you would fancy Leeds to do a similar job on them. Home win, 3-0.”

The verdict

It is hard to see past a Leeds win, but after Millwall’s win over Derby in midweek, it just goes to show that anything is possible in the Championship.

Leeds need to remain focused and not be complacent against a side who look destined for the drop back to League One.

As much as it could be tempting to think Bolton have a chance – they don’t

This has home win written all over it – there is no other possible result.
