Swansea City will be looking to build upon the point that they earned during last weekend’s clash with Huddersfield Town when they face Preston North End in the Championship tomorrow.
Flynn Downes prevented the Jacks from suffering what would have been a fourth consecutive defeat in the second-tier by scoring in the second-half of their showdown with the Terriers.
Currently 17th in the Championship, Swansea could potentially leapfrog Bristol City in the standings if they beat Preston and Nigel Pearson’s side slip up against Cardiff City.
Whereas the Jacks have struggled for form in recent weeks, the Lilywhites have experienced somewhat of a renaissance under the guidance of their new manager Ryan Lowe.
Since opting to hand over the reins to the 43-year-old, Preston have managed to pick up an impressive total of eight points from their last four league fixtures.
After producing a spirited comeback in their meeting with Sheffield United earlier this week, the Lilywhites may fancy their chances of securing a positive result at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday.
Issuing his score prediction for this fixture in his latest Sky Sports column, pundit David Prutton has revealed that believes that the visitors will secure a 2-1 victory over Swansea.
Although Preston will be confident in their ability to secure a positive result in this clash, there is no reason why Swansea cannot defy Prutton’s prediction by sealing a much-needed victory in-front of their supporters.
The Jacks could call upon the services of new signing Hannes Wolf for this particular fixture whilst top-scorer Joel Piroe will be determined to deliver the goods for his side.
Having already managed to find the back of the net on 13 occasions this season, Piroe may fancy his chances of adding to this total on Saturday as Preston have only kept five clean-sheets in the second-tier.
Providing that Swansea do go on to beat their Championship opponents tomorrow, they could potentially use the momentum gained from this result to push on at this level in the coming weeks.
